Queens of Beauty Meet Kings of Clubs

by John Botha on

When golf professionals are battling to obtain their playing privileges, clawing their way up the rankings and earning the right to play in major events, they may dream of the big paydays and VIP treatment. But once they have arrived in the ‘big league’, they also find themselves rubbing shoulders with beauty queens. While the contestants for Miss World were in Sun City prior to the start of the Nedbank Golf Challenge, Miss Sweden, Erica Trisha Harrison, met up with her 2 countrymen, Henrik Stenson and Robert Karlson.

The lovely Miss Sweden confessed that she knew nothing about golf, and was oblivious to the fact that Stenson was the defending champion of the Nedbank Golf Challenge or that he and Karlsson had recently finished as runner’s-up in Golf’s World Cup. “So they are quite good then?” she innocently asked.

Miss United States, Lisa-Marie Kohrs, also met the 2 Americans in the field, Hunter Mahan and Nick Watney. Lisa-Marie also confessed that she was no expert when it came to golf, but was clearly delighted to meet her two countrymen that are flying the stars and stripes in Sun City.

It was clear that should the 2 beauties wish to take up the game, there would be no shortage of willing volunteers among the pros to coach them. The Miss World pageant will be held on the 12th December in Johannesburg for the second year running, and prior to the final event, the bevy of beauties will travel to Cape Town attend the draw for the FIFA 2010 World Cup™.
