Kick off to Battle of the Giants 2013

The buzz around this year’s Battle of the Giants is truly electric. Sun City Resort is seeing fans and followers flocking to get a taste of the talent on show. For so many young dancers, Battle of the Giants is a chance to showcase their skills and dedication to their craft. It’s also an opportunity for these passionate sportsmen to gain worldwide fame, as the competition serves as a preliminary round for an international championship.

What you can Expect

Battle of the Giants is one of the largest displays of talented dancers in South Africa, showcasing dance disciplines of every imaginable type. It’s an all-style event meaning you’ll see moves from Ballroom to Hip-hop, Ballet to Jazz and even something called para dance! Performers between the ages of 7 to 20-something compete, proving that spectacular talent comes in all shapes and sizes. Dancers from all around the country bring this sport to life in a magnificent display of passion and determination, culminating in a show that’s not to be missed!

Battle of the Giants starts 26 April and runs through to 28 April. Be sure to get in on the action, you won’t want to miss this.

With each passing year, the Battle of the Giants gets bigger and better and this event expects to see in excess of 500 dancers doing what they do best. Special appearances include the likes of world-famous Danish judge Kirsten Dan Jensen joining the panel of prestigious judges.

The International Dance Organisation (IDO) Grand Gala performance kicks off Saturday 27th where dancers, well versed in the art of Freestyle, Latin, Ballroom and Hip Hop, show us why they are truly experts in their field.

The Team Behind it All

The dream team behind this electric event is the South African Dance Teachers Association (SADTA) Stage Branch. This non-profit organisation comprises individuals dedicated to the alternative sport of dance and to the advancement and growth of dancers, choreographers and trainers across the globe.
