Sun City Climate Change Workshopon May 24, 2011
Project manager, Isa Swart from the Sun City Resort recently took part in a fascinating workshop; the Climate Change Workshop. This event took place at Bakapung in the PNP and allowed all those who attended to realise the implications that our standards of living has on the environment. The workshop confirmed to Isa that the Government is serious about reducing the impact that SA has on climate change
South Africa’s Influence On The Environment
Not many people are aware of the fact that the South African government is fully behind sustainable development and making a positive impact on climate change. The government also believes that if we don’t do something about climate change, there is a possibility that it will harm our personal development as a country; it could even un-do all the hard work and effort we have put in towards building our great nation.
We deduced what changes we can make going forward in order to better serve our environment at the same time as running our resort and making sure our guests are well catered to. You probably won’t notice it, but everything we do have a conscious effect; and it’s a good one!
Doing Our Part For The Environment
As a part of our on-going initiatives to build awareness and improve the environmental conditions of our country, continent and planet; we are in full support of events such as Earth Hour. Simple changes like not using any electricity for 1 hour are what it takes to build an understanding of how recklessly and carelessly we live. We know that with a united front against destroying the environment, we can and will make a difference.
