by Cabanas on
With yet another successful Nedbank Golf Challenge coming to an end, we would like to congratulate Lee Westwood on his 17-under par victory. The elated golfer took home the crystal trophy as well as the $1.25 million prize money, for the first time in the tournament’s 30 year history. We hope this victory is the start of more to come with 2011 fast approaching. Westwood finished off by saying “I am going to try and improve every aspect of my game – and try and peak at the time of the US Masters”. Sun City hosted this star-studded tournament for its 30th anniversary, and it really lived up to its name. The weather during the event was picturesque, with 4 sunny days. Sun City provided the 40 000 spectators with fantastic entertainment both on and off the fairway. South African bands Prime Circle, The Parlotones, Freshly Ground and Watershed had the crowd partying away to their ‘home grown’ tracks and South African rock legends Ballyhoo provided spectators with a nostalgic performance.
All in all the event was a massive success! You can check out more about the 30th Nedbank Golf Challenge here.
