Preparing for Miss Universe has been an unbelievably exciting rollercoaster of events but at the same time, a pretty daunting experience.
I am due to set off for the bright lights of Las Vegas on 6th of August – in less than two weeks! I’m delighted to say that clothing and costumes from various designers have been sourced. My “National Costume” by R J Kay and my “Competition Gown” by KLUK CGDT are both soon to be completed. They do, I believe, look absolutely beautiful and I can’t wait to show off the talent of these designers!
Whilst being physically prepared is important, it is also crucial to be mentally prepared. This preparation includes overcoming both the natural stress, together with the improving of one’s general knowledge skills in order to meet the pageant requirements.
Thus far, with the help of Sun International, I’m on track with all preparations and am looking forward to what awaits me in Las Vegas! When it comes to pageants, I believe one takes part to ultimately win but also to have fun, to meet new people and most importantly, to learn from one of the greatest opportunities of my life!

MISS SA TEEN
Enter now online
Miss SA Teen is one of the highlights of the summer calendar, and this year it takes place on Saturday 25 September at Sun City’s Valley of Waves during Spring break. If you are between 15 and 18, natural, sporty energetic and passionate about CSI causes, you are invited to enter the Miss SA Teen competition.
This choreographed show not only exposes the latest fashions and South Africa’s leading designers it’s also an opportunity to discover South Africa’s most outstanding young women and provides a platform for local achievement.
Last year, Chanté Jantjies from Centurion was crowned Miss SA Teen. The Judges decision was unanimous – Chanté was the winner both on stage and in the question and answer sessions. She has gone on to prove that a young lady can make a difference.
Miss SA Teen plays a role in the development and upliftment of the youth of South Africa. Her duties include conducting motivational speeches and focusing on social issues facing teens, such as HIV/AIDs, crime and abuse.

The Best Weekend At Sun City!
Let me start off by saying a huge, big WOW! I was completely blown away on my prize weekend away at Sun City after winning the Springbreak competition. After all, being treated like royalty with our every desires being met at the touch of a button is an experience not soon to be forgotten!
Being able to experience the Springbreak shoot exposed both me and (my lucky) boyfriend to another world of creativity and style. To our surprise, everyone on the shoots were incredibly down to earth – from the models to the camera men, to the bikini brand owners. It goes without saying, that everyone involved was very professional and talented. We were immediately welcomed as part of the entire project which really allowed us to appreciate all the hard work needed to complete a campaign like this.
Ismael Jardine – my, what a guy! We never knew that people like that existed! He organised everything for us to make our stay more welcoming and we pretty much think he designed the Palace of the Lost City, as not even the staff or managers know as much about the resort as him! He truly made the entire experience worthwhile as he ensured the weekend lived up to the motto of “A Million Thrills”. We were also lucky enough to meet an Irish cruise ship musician, who was gigging some shows at Sun City.
All in all, Springbreak 2010 is going to be EPIC and without a doubt, the party of the year! The quality of organisation, sound, location, awesome line up of bands and a few thousand people partying in their bikinis and board shorts – what more do you need?
